The Sky Blues were once again undone by a set-piece, as Steven Caulker opened the scoring in the first-half.

The hosts came back in the second half-period through Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko to keep pace with Manchester United in the title race.

Although he praised his team’s character, Mancini revealed his disappointment at the manner in which they conceded the opening goal:

“Tottenham are a strong team that are very dangerous away.” He told SkySports.

“The two problems are that we conceded again from a set-piece and the other problems is Clichy with his back. Apart from that we were fantastic.

“We need to have more concentration on set-pieces. But the players were fantastic and I can see that they showed the same spirit we had last year.”

The Italian also praised the contribution of the home fans during the past few weeks:

“I also want to say thank you to all of our supporters because they have been very close to us for the past two weeks and I want to say thank you.”

Caulker netted the first goal of the game, heading in from a Tom Huddlestone free-kick.

City came back in the second-half through Argentine striker Aguero.

Dzeko completed the scoring after 88 minutes, latching onto David Silva’s chipped through ball before lashing the ball home for his sixth goal of the season.
