Manchester City‘s bottomless pit of money means they can pretty much buy any one they want in the world. If Lionel Messi piped up tomorrow and asked for a move to the Etihad, it wouldn’t take much for them to stump up the reported £205million release clause in his contract.

But if their Academy stars are anything to go by, they might not need to splash that kind of money out in order to have the world’s best footballing talent at the club.

One City youngster, Emyr Huws, is currently showing the Championship what he’s all about while on loan at Birmingham City. He’s earning rave reviews and is hotly tipped to break in to the City first team very soon.

And if the 20-year-old Welsh midfielder can score goals like this more often, he could become an important City starlet sooner rather than later and, dare I say it, as good as his compatriot and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale…
