Manchester United have entered the race for Atletico Madrid starlet Saul Niguez, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Spanish sensation – currently on loan at Rayo Vallecano – has been heavily linked with Arsenal and Chelsea of late after impressing with his fledgling displays in La Liga.

But, his promising performances have also caught the eye of United boss David Moyes, who is believed to have sent coach Phil Neville to watch the youngster in action.

The 19-year-old has been one of Spanish football’s bright sparks this term, settling well at Rayo and becoming a first-team regular despite his age.

The attacking midfielder has shown a level of maturity beyond his years, and is already being talked about as a future La Roja star if he can maintain his current rate of development.

With Arsenal and Chelsea paying close attention to Niguez, Moyes is ready to push his efforts to land the teenager forward.

Neville was in attendance for Rayo’s clash with Getafe, and may have also been keeping an eye on the talented starlet’s team-mate Alex Galvez – a highly-rated defender.
