Manchester United are preparing to rival Real Madrid for World Cup star James Rodriguez with a massive £63 million bid, Express reports.
The Monaco midfielder picked up the Golden Boot award at the World Cup, scoring the most in the competition with six goals which have made the 22-year-old a top target for Europe’s elite clubs.
Liverpool are also very interested in purchasing the Colombia star and could very well fund the move with the profits made from the £75million sale of Luis Suarez.
However, Rodriguez recently admitted his desire to play for Real Madrid, with the Champions League winner likely favourites to sign the player.
With United signing a £750 million kit deal with Adidas, Louis van Gaal will have extra funds available to aid him in his bid to add the young attacker to his already high profile shopping list.
Other potential Red Devils target are Arturo Vidal, Angel Di Maria, and Mats Hummel, all of whom are currently linked with a big money move to Old Trafford.
