Storming into the FA Cup fourth-round with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Reading, Manchester United secured their best winning run in eight years and got their FA Cup defence off to the best possible start.

Goals from Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and a brace from Marcus Rashford sealed the victory for Jose Mourinho's side at Old Trafford, who made numerous changes for the match- handing a rest to the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Now flying, and looking in fine form ahead of their huge test against Liverpool next weekend, Manchester United are a side to avoid in the next round of the FA Cup and the Red Devils certainly look capable of achieving what Arsenal did two seasons ago- retaining the FA Cup.

Only 15 minutes it, the game looked to be beyond Jaap Stam's side as Anthony Martial scored an easy goal to double Manchester United's advantage. Reading needed a miracle to get back into the game but Ali Al-Habsi, a name many Premier League fans will be familar with, frustrated the hosts as he made numerous saves to quell United's attack. Without him between the sticks, it could have been a much larger victory for Jose Mourinho's side.

Having missed a number of chances earlier in the game, Marcus Rashford ended a 18-match run without a goal as he found the net inside the final 15 minutes. The goal ended any chances of Reading pulling back into the match and should give Rashford a big confidence boost.

After performing valiantly throughout the match, Al-Habsi had a moment to forget in the final moments as he made a complete mess-up at the back and allowed Rashford to score his second of the game from just one yard. Unfortunately, this is what he'll be remembered for in the match but his fine game prior to this incident should not be overlooked.
