Bayern Munich defender Dante says that Manchester United are interested in taking him to Old Trafford.
The Brazilian centre-back has been a key member of the Bundesliga and European champions’ squad for some time, and has been lauded for his technical abilities along the way.
Red Devils chief David Moyes is expected to delve into the transfer market in the coming weeks, with the club’s board believed to have handed him significant funds with which to repair their woeful start to the season.
Although a midfielder is the priority, the Scot is also keen to bolster his defensive options with Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand both entering the closing stages of their careers.
Dante, 30, has emerged as a target, and the South American star says that interest is serious:
“Not yet,” he is quoted by The Mirror when asked if he has signed for United.
“I’m thankful for the Manchester United interest, it will all be sorted out by the end of the month.”
Dante has appeared in 15 of Bayern’s 16 league encounters this season, performing admirably.
Manchester City have also been linked with his signature, and could rival their local rivals for his services.
