Manchester United finished their season with a 3-1 victory at Old Trafford against Bournemouth on Tuesday. After the game, Louis van Gaal took to the pitch to address the United fans, thanking the faithful for their 'unconditional support' for the club in what has clearly been a tough few years.

The Dutchman's reception was mixed. There were cheers and boos in equal measure as the fans showed both their appreciation and frustration simultaneously. The former Ajax boss criticised those who jeered, saying they expect 'too much'. Possibly not a wise move when your job is hanging by a thread.
