Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has revealed his frustration at the lack of first team football he has been given by Jose Mourinho this season, as reported by The Metro.

Benzema has fierce competition from Gonzalo Huguain and Cristiano Ronaldo up top for the Spanish champions and he may be interested in a move away from the Spanish capital if things don’t improve for him.

Manchester United were reportedly interested in Benzema this summer but were politely told no chance by Mourinho, but if the player is unhappy, the ‘Special One’ may not have any choice but to sell.

Benzema has vowed to keep on working hard to get back into the side, but he clearly isn’t happy on the bench.

“Of course, I want to play more,” Benzema told French newspaper L'Equipe

“I've spent more time on the bench than I have on the pitch since the season began, but I'm going to keep fighting and make the most of the minutes I get.”
