According to reports from The Sun, Manchester United have joined Manchester City in the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur's superstar full-backs Kyle Walker and Danny Rose in a potential £60million double deal.

The phrases 'superstar' and 'full-backs' don't usually go hand-in-hand but the England internationals are of a rather elite breed - at the pinnacle of the modern trend of high-flying, all-action defensive flankers who make intrinsic contributions at both ends of the pitch.

Likewise, as our infographic shows, Rose and Walker have emerged as arguably the best full-back pairing around this season, ranking highly on all five fronts we've measured them on throughout Europe's leading top flights.

At the same time, the Red Devils are in need of some fresh blood on either side of the defence and there's the added advantage of strengthening their starting XI whilst inherently weakening one of their divisional rivals.
