It was almost inevitable that David Moyes would struggle to hit the ground running after taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer.

But not many people will have predicted the disastrous start he's had in the Old Trafford hot seat, with a Champions League spot edging further out of reach and the Theatre of Dreams becoming more of a weekly circus.

But should he be given more time to stamp his own authority on United, or is it already time to put the Scot out of his misery? Here's what Twitter thinks...

Verdict

No one said it would be easy but, when you've got a large percentage of fans who have grown up supporting a United side that was winning games almost every week and trophies almost every other season, the role as manager at Old Trafford is something of a poisoned chalice.

If Moyes wins a game he'll be slammed for not winning it the Manchester United way. If he loses he'll be slammed for not playing the Manchester United way.

There's a split opinion on Twitter, although the majority of people calling for Moyes to be given time are Liverpool and City fans, which isn't that surprising.

Remember, Fergie's start as United boss was worse than Moyes'. Just let that sink in for a bit.
