Juventus are plotting an audacious January move for Manchester United striker Robin van Persie, according to reports from CalcioMercato.

The Dutchman – who fired the Red Devils to Premier League glory last season – has endured an underwhelming start to the 2013/14 season, with rumours hinting that all is not well off of the field.

There have been suggestions that the 30-year-old does not see eye to eye with new Old Trafford boss David Moyes, and that he is frustrated by Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to retire over the summer.

Juve have been alerted by this, and see RVP as the ideal candidate to become the focal point of their side as they look to secure a third Serie A title on the bounce.

The Old Lady have been linked with a number of top class centre-forwards in recent times, but have been unable to lure the calibre of marksman they desire to Turin.

Van Persie’s current situation is one they believe can work in their favour, with a move in the coming weeks possible.

The former Arsenal man has spent large chunks of the season on the sidelines through injury, and seems to have lost his role as United’s talisman to a resurgent Wayne Rooney.

I am a strong manutd supporter. I think David Moyes’ system doesn’t suit RVP! Much as it hurts to see RVP leave, nothing is permanent
