Juventus are ready to battle with Manchester United for the signature of Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, according to talkSPORT.
Manchester United have been long term admirers of the German international, and David Moyes is expected to make a bid this summer as the club hunt for a quality replacement for Nemanja Vidic.
They are set to face a battle for his signature, with local rivals Manchester City and Catalan giants Barcelona also believed to be interested.
But it is Juventus who have most recently entered the running, with Old Lady boss Antonio Conte confident of pipping Moyes to the German’s signature.
Manchester United are facing a huge battle to qualify for next season’s Champions League, a fact that may well prove difficult to overcome when it comes to making signings this summer.
Hummels is widely regarded as one of the best centre backs in the world, having left Bayern Munich’s academy in 2008 to join Dortmund.
He has gone on to make 158 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund, with the 25-year-old scoring 14 goals.
