Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of long-term Manchester United target Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich, as reported by Sky Sports.
The 24-year-old, who played in all of Germany’s matches as they went on to claim a fourth World Cup title earlier this month, has signed a six-year deal at the Bernabeu and is expected to be unveiled later today.
Kroos had been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer and new Red Devils boss Louis Van Gaal was thought to be serious about brining the midfielder to the Premier League.
But Kroos has ended such speculation by securing a move to La Liga, bringing an end to his hugely successful Bayern career.
During his time at the Allianz Arena, Kroos made 176 appearances and helped the Bavarian club win three Bundesliga titles, three German Cups, a Champions League, a Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “We would like to thank Toni Kroos for his time here in Munich.
“We enjoyed great success here together. We would like to wish him and his family all the best in Madrid and with Real.”
