Nemanja Vidic’s proposed move from Manchester United to Inter Milan this summer is 90% complete, according to Inter director Piero Ausilio.
The Serbia centre-back revealed earlier this month that he was leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season after nine years at the club.
And it is believed a move to Inter Milan will be confirmed in the coming days as both parties strive to come to an agreement.
Ausilo told Sky Sports: “I don’t want to announce something that’s 90% done.
“I think it’s better to make an announcement when it’s complete. I don’t want to speak on something that’s not done yet.”
In his statement earlier this month, Vidic explained the reasons behind his decision to leave United and England.
“I want to challenge myself again and try to make the best of myself in the coming years.” he said.
“I’m not considering staying in England as the only club I ever wanted to play for here is Manchester United and I was lucky enough to be part of this club for so many years.”
