Manchester United have agreed a £20million deal to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos, according to Metro.

The German international has been the subject of increased speculation over a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks and looks set to finally complete a move to England as Louis Van Gaal’s first United signing.

The 24-year-old has just one year remaining on his Allianz Arena contract and has turned down the chance to stay at the European Champions.

Bayern have reportedly accepted a bid worth £20million for Kroos and now Old Trafford chiefs will meet with the star to persuade him to sign up to what they believe will be an exciting new era at the club under Van Gaal.

But he may have to compromise on his £250,000-a-week wage demands if he is to swap Munich for Manchester, despite Van Gaal being handed a generous £200m war chest to rebuild the playing squad.
