David Beckham is not just a model, celebrity and underwear guru, he was once a footballer.

Remarkably, Beckham's hugely decorated footballing career has become lost in his A-list fame, and his relationship with 'Posh Spice' is now more relevant to many of the 'fans' of the ex-Man United man. However, it is his birthday and we thought it was best to treat you all to some of his absolute crackers from what was a great career.

Obviously a player of such class was about far more than goals, but it's not often that a lovely cross gets fans cheering or a commentator making odd noises, is it? Some of these strikes are iconic from 'Becks'. In fact, they're up there on the list of the best goals we have seen in the past two decades, and the all-round good bloke should be remembered for his work on the pitch as much as his celebrity status off it.

Without any more stalling, here are 'Becks'' best strikes..

Goodbye Manchester!

Looping the free-kick over a helpless Wayne Rooney in the Everton wall, Beckham scored this belter just before he left for the spotlight of Real Madrid.

Flashback

Becks' loved a dip from his own half and, like Xabi Alonso famously did for Liverpool, he scored from about 70 yards against Kansas City.

You never know, we might see a similar goal later in this list..

Can't beat a good chip..

Not his usual trademark dead ball situation, but this dink against West Ham is one of the best examples of Beckham's sublime technique.

Lobbing a 'keeper is hard enough, but to do it when running at full tilt?! That's magical.

I'd love it if we'd beat them..

The Newcastle United and Manchester United rivalry was fierce back in the mid 90s. Beckham provided a touch of class with this delicate effort.

Goalkeeping 'mare

I'd really like to ask the 'keeper what he is doing here.

Unfortunately we can't, but Beckham scoring from a corner just shows how much curve he could get.

Far-post treat

Beckham's time with Real Madrid did not go quite as victoriously as he may have hoped, but the occasional cracker brightened up his time..

Milanese delight

Joining AC Milan on a brief sabbatical to keep fit whilst at LA Galaxy, Beckham joined a hugely talented squad at the sleeping Italian giants.

Unsurprisingly, the Rossoneri loved him just as much as everyone else has done.

Becks' most famous moment

Coming a fair few years before his effort against Kansas, Beckham's long distance corker against Wimbledon still appears on best Premier League goals lists to this day.

Sweet revenge

A simple penalty, I hear you say.

A penalty is never simple - just ask John Terry - but with the happenings in 1998 between 'Becks' and Argentina, this one meant even more.

The pressure couldn't have been higher, yet Beckham produced the goods.

World Cup qualification delight

Don't worry, we didn't forget it!

Save the best till last, folks. And that we truly did.

Beckham's blinder against Greece carried England after a dire performance against Greece and, as the commentator says, he really did raise the roof!
