Manchester United are weighing up a move for Barcelona’s Xavi this summer, according to MirrorFootball.

The Spanish midfielder still has two years remaining on his Camp Nou contract, but it is thought he’s looking for a new challenge as his career winds down.

And a move to the Premier League could be an attractive proposition for the 34-year-old, with United joining Manchester City and Arsenal in the list of club’s reportedly interested.

United are expected to have a complete overhaul of players this summer as they try and put a devastating season behind them, and a world-class midfielder will be high on the list of players needed for whoever is to take charge of the Old Trafford outfit.

It is believed Xavi could be tempted by a £150-a-week deal and United could be handed the initiative in the race for the Spaniard, particularly with Man City facing UEFA sanctions for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations this season.
