Manchester United have made a £28million bid for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado, according to Metro.
The 27-year-old was a United target before the World Cup and boosted his chances of a move away from Italy with a number of glittering performances for Columbia in Brazil.
And such performances appear to have convinced new Old Trafford boss Louis Van Gaal to make an official move for him.
La Liga giants Barcelona are also keen on the winger and are expected to match United’s bid in the coming days, which is expected to spark a bidding war as both sides go head-to-head to secure one of the stars of this summer’s World Cup.
United’s move for Cuadrado comes just days after a deal for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria fell through, with the Argentinian now expected to join PSG instead.
