Manchester United are tracking Barcelona’s rising star Rafa Alcantara, just months after his older brother Thiago rejected a move to Old Trafford in favour of joining Bayern Munich, reports the Daily Mirror.
The 21-year-old, commonly known as Rafinha, has shone whilst on loan at Celta Vigo this season, and is tipped to become part of the first team set up at the Nou Camp upon his return in the summer.
But it appears United are monitoring the situation closely, and may well try and tempt him to the Premier League at the end of the season.
The Old Trafford giants are planning a major summer over-haul after lamely conceding their title, with eight defeats already this season under David Moyes.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said last week: “It’s fair to say we are focused on strengthening the squad. We aren’t afraid of moving in the market in a way we perhaps haven’t seen in recent years.
“We’ve had roughly three sales and three purchases each year, and it’s possible we would do more than that.”
