Manchester United manager David Moyes is considering going back in for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Moyes has been busy compiling scout reports as he finalises his summer transfer wishlist, which so far consists of Southampton’s Luke Shaw, Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund, and Toni Kroos of Bayern Munich.
The Scot was also present as Benfica took on Porto on Wednesday night, and is set to revisit scouting reports on Herrera before deciding whether to reignite his interest.
Herrera was the subject of strong interest from Manchester United last summer, who ultimately failed with a deadline day bid for the Spanish playmaker.
United were reluctant to pay the £32million buy-out-clause last summer, and could face further complications this time around, as that fee is expected to rise to £37million.
Moyes takes his Manchester United side to former club Everton this weekend, with the Toffees fighting for Champions League football under successor Roberto Martinez.
Despite a nightmare first season in charge at Old Trafford, Moyes remains confident he will be given time to rebuild the club, and has been busy planning ahead for the summer transfer window, where he is expected to be given huge financial backing.
