Manchester United have completed the signing of Southampton’s Luke Shaw for a fee reported to be in the region for £34million, according to Sky Sports.
The 18-year-old, who becomes the most expensive teenager in history, has signed a five-year-deal at Old Trafford worth £100,000-a-week.
United had a £27m bid for Shaw rejected earlier this summer and were told a deal could not be done while Shaw was representing England in the World Cup over in Brazil.
But a deal has now been completed following Shaw’s return from South America on Wednesday.
Shaw follows Athletico Bilbao’s Ander Herrera to Old Trafford, after the Spaniard signed for the former Premier League Champions in a £28m deal yesterday.
Southampton have now lost a number of key players this summer, as well as manager Mauricio Pochettino. and news has also emerged this afternoon that St. Mary’s captain Adam Lallana is set to be the latest player to jump ship as he heads up to Liverpool for medical ahead of a £28m move to Anfield.
