Manchester United are looking to use outcast Bebe as bait to land Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan, according to the Daily Star.
Louis van Gaal is prepared to offer the 23-year-old plus cash for the Argentine winger, who is expected to leave the Portuguese giants this summer.
Bebe has spent the last three seasons on loan at Beskitas, Rio Ave and Pacos de Ferreira and it is likely he will leave Old Trafford on a permanent basis this summer as van Gaal attempts to rebuild the club following a disastrous season last term.
But the Dutch boss may still have to cough up around £15m to go alongside Bebe in order to bag the Benfica star.
Benfica are experiencing financial difficulties at present and are looking for as much money as possible for their best assets, and Gaitan recently admitted that he would be happy to leave the club if it were to help them with their off field troubles.
Meanwhile, United left-back Alexander Buttner is close to sealing a permanent switch to Dinamo Moscow after admitted he was unhappy at the former Premier League champions.
