Nemanja Vidic, Manchester United defender

Nemanja Vidic refuses to rule out the possibility of Ronaldo returning to Manchester United in the future, reports the The Daily Mail

Defender Vidic will feature in Tuesday’s game against Real Madrid and will be part of the defence keeping Ronaldo at bay. He thinks that there is a still a chance he could play with the Portuguese player again despite Reds boss Fergie previously stating that he doesn’t think that Ronaldo will return to Old Trafford.

“I could see it. He (Ronaldo) is a United supporter and he still follows United, he still misses the club and the environment here, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him come back,” said Vidic.

“It would be a big ask for many reasons, but I would love to see him here.

“I don’t know what atmosphere he has at Madrid, so I can’t really talk about that, but all I can say is that I enjoyed playing with him, he enjoyed it here and it will be great to see him.”

The United centre-back also compared his ex-team mate to Lionel Messi and revealed that he believes Ronaldo is as good as the Barcelona star.

“They are different players, totally  different,” he added.

“But in recent years, Barcelona have won  everything and I think that is why people have put Ronaldo to one  side.

“I have played with him and trained with him  and I know how many sacrifices he made to be where he is.”

United take on Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night in a must-win game for the Red Devils if they want to progress to the next round of the European competition.
