Manchester United are keen to tie up a January move for Cruzeiro winger Everton Ribeiro, according to his agent.
The 24-year-old ace – who was voted the Brazilian league’s top player during the last campaign – has been on the Premier League champions’ radar for some time, with scouts from the club having been monitoring his progress in recent months.
David Moyes is thought to be desperate to land attacking additions over the winter after enduring a difficult start to his tenure at Old Trafford.
Ribeiro has been linked with a switch over the course of the last few weeks, and the South American’s agent, Robson Ferreira, says that he is in contact with United and that they are looking to reach an agreement:
“Manchester United want him,” he is quoted by The Metro.
“David Moyes has been impressed. I’ve already been to England and talked personally with them.
“In United’s opinion, he is the complete midfielder.”
A potential transfer could cost around £15m, but may be complicated by Ribeiro’s complex ownership situation, with 40% of his rights held by a third-party company – a state of affairs frowned up in the English game.
