Manchester United are tracking Valencia left-back Juan Bernat, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

David Moyes is believed to have made a replacement for Patrice Evra a top priority heading into the summer, with the experienced Frenchman said to be on the verge of leaving Old Trafford once his contract expires in the summer.

United have been linked with a number of alternatives, but now Bernat is believed to be a top target.

The 21-year-old has been enjoying a fine season at the Mestalla, with his performances said to have caught the eyes of a number of top clubs.

Originally a winger, the youngster has found himself moved to a deeper role in recent times, where he has thrived.

He has already been compared to now Barcelona star Jordi Alba – who also spent time at Valencia – thanks to his pace, skill and attacking intent.

Southampton’s Luke Shaw is said to be their preferred target, but with Chelsea looking the likeliest side to win the race for the coveted England international, they may be unable to tie up a deal.

However they may have to move quickly for Bernat, with Valencia on the verge of being taken over by Singapore-based billionaire, Peter Lim.
