Manchester United have jumped ahead of Liverpool in the pursuit of Alexis Sanchez, with Tottenham also interested.

The Express are reporting that the Chilean is available for £20million, with United eager to match that valuation now in order to secure his signature. Liverpool are hoping that their offer for Champions League football will win over the winger.

Sanchez was the subject of a £16.5million bid from Juventus, which was rejected by Barca for being too low. But with Louis van Gaal eager to build his new squad at Old Trafford, the Dutchman has reportedly given the green light for his new club to sign the 25-year-old.

The winger scored 19 league goals for the Catalan side last season, including a stunning effort in the 1-1 draw with league winners Atletico Madrid on the last day of the season. But with the club looking to strengthen this summer under new manager Luiz Enrique, Sanchez could be on his way out of the Camp Nou, with United now the lead favourite to sign him.

Sanchez finished his third season at Barcelona since joining them from Serie A side Udinese, but the Chilean won’t be returning to the Italian league unless Juventus improve their offer, before United meet Barcelona’s demands.
