Nani Manchester United midfielder

Portuguese Winger Nani is likely to be shown the exit door this summer as contract talks have broken down between him and Manchester United due to his high wage demands.

Nani has been out of favour this season only featuring in 9 league games so far. He failed to make the bench for Wednesday’s Champions League game against Real Madrid which adds to the speculation that he might leave Old Trafford.

“There were a lot of disappointed players. Nani and Ashley Young. I found it hard to explain to them I was leaving them out,” Fergie told The Express.

The Red Devils manager also had to leave Nemanja Vidic and Javier Hernandez out, a decision that he reiterated was difficult to make.

“I explained to Chicharito that Robin van Persie is our main striker and we wanted someone to join in from a deeper position,” Fergie added.

“Whenever Chicharito plays, he delivers. He has 14 goals, he will score more than 20 and will have opportunities.”

Zenit St Petersburg tried to buy the winger in the summer but failed to secure the signing. It has been said that Nani would prefer a move to either a Spanish or Portuguese club which would suit Ferguson who would be unlikely to sell him to a rival Premier League club.
