Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is casting an eye over Leicester striker Jeff Schlupp who is training with the Red Devils, according to the Independent.

The 20 year old is on trial at the Premier League club with a view to a permanent switch despite not making much of an impact for the Foxes this season.

Schlupp is a pacey frontman who can also play on the wing and earned his first full international cap for Ghana last November.

Leicester and United have a close relationship that has seen many of Sir Alex’s youngsters earn vital experience on loan in the Midlands in recent seasons.

Schlupp is still under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2015 and so Leicester will demand a sizable fee for their promising youngster who suffered a bad knee injury towards the end of last season.

The young striker is set to return to Leicester in the coming days and will see if he has earned himself a deal at Old Trafford by the end of the month.
