Henrikh Mkhitaryan struggled to get into Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United squad for the first few months of the season, but now he is thriving. In fact, the Armenian international has come first, second and third in the club’s goal of the month competition voted for by the fans.People were left scratching their heads when Mourinho continued to keep Mkhitaryan out of the side, claiming that his fitness was not up to Premier League standard just yet.[ad_pod id='now-tv' align='centre']The summer signing was given his chance two months’ ago, and he has not looked back since, scoring three goals, all of which came in December. Not only did he find the back of the net, he did it in style, and as a result has taken all three places in the monthly vote.

As expected, Mkhitaryan’s scorpion kick against Sunderland topped the vote with 79%, while his individual effort against Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League took second on the podium.

Four per cent of fans voted for Mkhitaryan’s goal against Tottenham Hotspur, which meant that the top three all went to the former Borussia Dortmund man.

Mkhitaryan will hope to put in another goalscoring display when United welcome arch rivals Liverpool to Old Trafford on Sunday.
