Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa is set to fully adapt to the rigours of the Premier League and shine in the latter stages of the season according to his manager.
Sir Alex Ferguson insists his star has been subject to an unacceptable amount of fouls since his arrival at Old Trafford.
Kagawa sustained a two month injury against Braga in October and has struggled to gain momentum since, but his creative influence has not been forgotten.
At the start of the campaign he showed signs of real promise as the Japanese international scored two goals in his first six matches. He could prove to be an additional attacking threat as the Manchester club challenge on three fronts.
There are concerns though as the player has not scored in his last 10 appearances and there have been question marks as to how much of an effect his injury has had upon him.
Red Devils supporters were particularly frustrated with his most recent 64 minute outing against Real Madrid where he struggled to shine on the Champions League stage as he was eventually substituted for Ryan Giggs.
Fergie was aware of these fears but was quick to state the importance of his £12 million summer signing to the Daily Mail.
“I thought in the first half-hour in Madrid he was terrific and he was making some great runs through them. We thought that was going to be one of our biggest assets in the game, someone to play in the second balls, and he was just unlucky with a couple of heavy touches on the ball.”
