In an exclusive reported by The Sun, Anthony Martial could be set for a Manchester United exit with PSG hoping to take him back to French football.

What's the story?

Having started just five Premier League games this season, Anthony Martial is finding it tough to prove he can be a key player for United under Jose Mourinho.

Now Paris Saint-Germain are hoping to snap him up by spending big to bring him back to French football.

The Sun are quoting a United source, who said: "It is well known PSG are very keen if the club does consider selling."

Consider selling they might, since having him feature in EFL Cup matches and from the bench hardly represents good value for the investment in the transfer that brought him from Monaco.

Surely there's still a future for him at Old Trafford?

Martial brought Old Trafford to life last night, applying two finishes of the highest quality that will go a long way to earning him Premier League starts once again.

If he can do that there may still be a future under Mourinho and the manager's treatment of him may be by design to bring the best out of the Frenchman.

Mourinho can ill afford complacency in his squad and would no doubt enjoy Martial reaching the form we saw in patches throughout his first season.

With 21 goals in 63 appearances for the Red Devils, it's not as if Martial has been a flop at the club. Perhaps he just needed the kick up the backside from Mourinho to push on to the next level and become the star that his record-breaking fee demands.
