Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani is open to a summer move to Manchester United, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Uruguayan hit-man has been heavily linked with the Red Devils over the course of the past few months, with the club rumoured to be considering him as a part of their predicted off-season spend – which could go beyond the £200m mark.

Cavani only joined PSG last year, yet he is already believed to be angling for a switch away from the Ligue 1 champions after growing frustrated with his first-team role.

Enigmatic Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic is widely seen as the club’s talisman, which has seen Laurent Blanc’s starting XI shifted around to accommodate him as the focal point.

A host of teams including Chelsea and Manchester City have been linked with Cavani, but a source close to the player said that he is keen on United’s interest, and that he considers the Premier League to be a good option for him:

“Edinson believes he will be a perfect fit in England. He knows that United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all interested and would be happy to talk to any of them. But he also knows United seem the most keen and that is a factor.”

The 27-year-old is also not concerned by United’s lack of Champions League involvement, as he is sure they will be back at the pinnacle of English football this time next year.
