Koke

Koke

If there’s one Atletico star Manchester United fans would love to see join Diego Simeone at Old Trafford ahead of next season, it’s undoubtedly midfield prodigy Koke.

The 22 year-old has set La Liga alight this season whilst the Mattress Makers top the Spanish table, claiming the Player of the Month award for October and amassing six goals and thirteen assists in 32 league outings.

No player has claimed more set-ups in the Spanish top flight, and resultantly, Koke’s impeccable form this term has seen him emerge as a regular for La Roja, with seven caps since his debut in August.

The Vincente Calderon youngster possesses the creativity, invention and energy the Red Devils have disturbingly lacked in midfield this term, and can adopt virtually any role in the middle of the park, ranging from defensive midfield to left wing.

Having already been labelled as Xavi’s successor in the Spain fold by the Barcelona icon himself, Koke is undoubtedly one of European football’s hottest prospects. He comes with that all-important winning mentality too, having claimed a Europa League title, Copa del Rey and European Super Cup under Simeone, in addition to a European Championship with the Spain U21s last summer.

Having flourished under the Argentine, it’s likely that Koke would be prepared to follow him to Carrington. But Atleti bumped up his release clause to an eye-watering €60million in the last transfer window, suggesting they’re in no mood to sell.
