Manchester United are at their lowest point under David Moyes. Out of both domestic cup competitions, struggling for a place in next season’s Champions League, and now faced with the task of buying a new defence following Nemenja Vidic’s decision to part ways with the club.
It means United have to hit the ground running this summer, picking up players who are able to step in as ready made replacements for those either departing or ageing, and those who can supplement the squad.
United have publicly backed Moyes, going into the market to sign Juan Mata in January. But more of the same will be needed at the end of the season; a level of confidence and cunning that has so far been absent for the most part in the market.
