Manchester United have gotten rid of the two most recognized centre-backs in their squad – Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand – and will need one of the same calibre if they are to challenge for the title next season. A transfer option for boss Louis van Gaal is Dante, who has been linked with a move away from Bayern Munich this summer.
The 30-year-old seems to be considering a move to the Premier League with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea both monitoring the situation, but Man United will do well to add the experienced Brazilian to their ranks.
Dante is composed on the ball, strong in the air, and has a good command of his defensive area. He may already be 30 years of age, but three good seasons at Old Trafford while guiding the likes of Phil Jones will be more than sufficient. However he won’t come cheap, with Bayern valuing him at around £14million.
