Snooker star suggests sports psychiatrist for United

Snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan has urged Manchester United to bring in sports psychiatrist Dr Steve Peters, reports the Mirror.

Peters is currently Liverpool’s psychiatrist, and has helped them to their title challenge this campaign. Steven Gerrard publicly thanked the doctor for helping the midfielder recover from a re-occuring groin injury, on the same night Peters was announced to be joining the England staff for the World Cup this summer.

O’Sullivan has also used Peters over the last few years, and has credited the doctor as part of the reason he went on to win the World Championship in both 2012 and 2013. And the Rocket took to his Twitter page to urge United to use Peters:”Best signing Man Utd can make is Steve Peters. They will win the league again. Got no doubt. He’s working miracles at Liverpool mans a genius. Never worked with some one so good and skilful.”

United have struggled under David Moyes in his first season in charge, with the current champions set to finish a mile away from the top of the Premier League. But O’Sullivan believes that a sports psychiatrist like Dr Steve Peters would help the players bounce back from their dismal season.

Manchester United face Bundesliga and current Champions League holders Bayern Munich this week.
