According to reports from Mirror Football, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been scouting Charlton Athletic prodigy Ezri Konsa.

What's the word?

The Addicks' academy is prolific when it comes to producing young talent and Ezri Konsa is the latest to emerge from the conveyor belt. The young defender broke into Russell Slade's first-team earlier this season, picking up seven starts in League One.

A number of Premier League clubs have been running the rule over him according to Mirror Football, with numerous scouts attending Charlton's 1-1 draw with Oldham on Tuesday night. The Konsa-keen cabal is reportedly lead by Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and the Manchester giants - and the south Londoners are said to be 'braced' for offers in the coming transfer window.

The latest Charlton product to make the top flight?

It's very hard to comment on Konsa's potential after just nine games at senior level, but as we've already alluded to, Charlton's record in the youth department is very strong. In recent years, Jonjo Shelvey, Carl Jenkinson, Diego Poyet and Joe Gomez have all emerged from the academy set-up at The Valley and gone on to join Premier League clubs. Likewise, 18-year-old Ademola Lookman was one of the Football League's most talked-about players during the summer transfer window - although Charlton managed to hold onto him.

Is a January deal likely?

One of the reasons Charlton youngsters have so consistently moved to the top flight is because, to be frank, the Addicks aren't brilliant at holding onto them. Indeed, promising products often only spend around half a season in the starting XI before being allowed to leave for relatively modest fees. It's quite staggering to think Liverpool paid just £1.7million for Shelvey, whilst Jenkinson set Arsenal back a mere£1million.

Currently midtable in League One, Charlton aren't in the strongest position to keep suitors at bay if they come calling in the New Year. That being said, the Addicks resisted interest in Lookman during the summer after tying him down to a new contract in February, suggesting the third-tier outfit have become a little savvier when it comes to protecting value.

Likewise, in regards to Premier League interest, it makes more sense for Konsa to continue his development at The Valley for the time being - although that could come in the form of a January transfer followed by an immediate loan back to south London.
