If you're at a club like Manchester United, it's safe to say that you're always under the spotlight.

They're a footballing machine that always needs to bring success to Old Trafford. It's what they're known for and its safe to say that there probably won't ever be a bigger football club in England.

But unfortunately for some of the contingent currently on the books at Manchester United, their time must be coming to an end in the very near future. And in this piece in particular, we want to look at some of the English players who are really falling behind as they try and reignite their Manchester United careers.

United were having a tough time of it before they thrashed Leicester on Saturday but it doesn't seem like these three players are going to be able to help Man United replicate that kind of performance moving forward this season...

Phil Jones

It's safe to say that Phil Jones isn't really man of the moment right now at Manchester United. He's out injured with a knee ligament injury but rumours are already rife that he's going to be sold to Arsenal in the January transfer window.

With Eric Bailly and Daley Blind holding down the centre-back berths, it seems that Jones will struggle to break back into the side.

And for the sake of both his club and international career, he should leave Old Trafford as soon as possible.

Ashley Young

Ashley Young has made only one Premier League appearance this season and you can't help but feel that his time at Old Trafford must be coming to an end in the near future.

He's a good enough player but now at 31-years-old, there are players coming through the academy that can just give a better option these days. If United want to win silverware, they're not going to do it with a player like Young, who is out of young and out of favour.

The best thing for him would be to leave Old Trafford and use the years he has left to make a name for himself elsewhere.

Wayne Rooney

He's the player on everyone's lips and it seems that all United supporters are thinking something different when it comes to the future of Wayne Rooney.

Let's face it, he's out of form, playing out of position and not doing particularly well on the pitch. But when it comes to football, you need to be playing in your preferred position where you can perform best and do the best job for the team.

Wayne Rooney is a striker and if he can't get in the team, he should move on elsewhere. He's far too good a player to sit on the bench and far too good to have to try and adapt to a position he's never played in before.

The fact Mourinho dropped him against Leicester suggests his time at Old Trafford is coming to an end.
