When you are Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the world comes to you.

You don't need to chase clubs, instigate conversations and negotiations, promote yourself on TV or on social media - you are Zlatan and everyone should want you.

In the Swede's mind that's how it works and in truth, that's how it actually is. Zlatan is much sought after.Paris Saint-Germain wanted him to stay, but he had decided that he needed a new challenge for just a year.

Another season somewhere in Europe, somewhere different, somewhere big and somewhere that he chose to be rather than to be told where he will go.

The 34-year-old becomes a free agent after four years with PSG , a spell which yielded four Ligue 1 titles, but he is believed to be holding out until the end of his contract to become eligible for a £1m loyalty bonus.

China have come calling, but despite the many millions on offer, Zlatan feels as though it's not the money, but the challenge. Previous clubs have called him, but he inclines towards new destinations and doesn't seem to appreciate repeat shows. Ambitious clubs, like West Ham, have tentatively expressed interest until they see his wage demands and then they relax in the pursuit of one of the most trophy laden footballers in the modern game.

As a winner, he is attracted to winners and that's why Manchester United appear to be in pole position for his eagerly awaited signature. Peter Schmeichel has already said that Zlatan was "born to play for Manchester United", and maybe he was.

A name like United would sit well with the others on his CV - Inter, Ajax, Barcelona, Juventus, Milan and PSG and with over 100 caps for Sweden, playing in the Champions League and World Cups, this unique individual has a wealth of experience and a bag full of goals to back up such attitude.

But United are not the only option. The big striker could be swayed. Over in the Bundesliga, champions Bayern Munich are looking at calling upon the 34-year-old's services for just one season.

Ancelotti is worried that star striker Robert Lewandowski will be lured to Real Madrid this summer and is already scouting for replacements, with Ibrahimovic his preferred target.

Ibrahimovic and Ancelotti worked together for one very successful season at Paris Saint-Germain, and the Italian had even tried to sign his former frontman when he was in charge at Real Madrid.

It will be tempting. Although Zlatan has never plied his trade in England, he's never played in Germany either and Bayern can at least offer him a higher stage to play upon - the Champions League.

Ancelotti is also a winner and very well suited to the German club. Ibrahimovic may feel that he can earn as much in Bavaria, play Champions League football and achieve whatever his heart desires there, instead of at Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho needs to re-build at Old Trafford and is looking for star talents with which to create this new era. United lacked goals last season. Signing Zlatan instantly gives you goals and fans in the stadium.

The Sweden international knows that the riches are in the English game, that the Premier League is showcased more than any other league around the world and his vanity may just dictate that the world needs to see more of Zlatan before he heads to the MLS with David Beckham.

Whichever club this unique genius joins, he takes with him his over confident self , his goals, his experience and his winning mentality, and you know he'll do well.

As he made his international farewell to the Swedish people, he said he conquered Sweden, that he was Sweden, that he made it his country his way and sure enough, Bayern or United, he will continue to conquer and do it all his way because Zlatan knows best.

He is a born winner.
