Footballers, like good wines, tend get better with age.
It’s easy to forget this and get caught up on the ideas of youth and potential when the reality is players enjoy the best years of their careers when their over 26. Angel di Maria though appears to get better by the day.
Well, that’s if Real Madrid’s value of the player is anything to go by. £75m is the latest price tag to be put on the Argentine, and while we are certainly in a transfer window in which prices are inflated, Ed Woodward must surely be regretting the comments he made about the club’s willingness to spend big.
Real now asking for 75 million because Ed Woodward came out and said he has an unlimited budget.. #classicwoodward
