After witnessing this weeks managerial merry-go-round in the capital it was rather poignant that Sir Alex Ferguson's 26-year reign was celebrated with the unveiling of his statue at Old Trafford. What the 70-year-old has done in two and a half decades at United is nothing short of miraculous, dominating the English game and conquering Europe not once but twice. It's the kind of success and stability their rivals envy and crave. But, despite festivities, the Red Devils find themselves once again looking up at their local adversaries at the Premier League summit. Defeat last week in East Anglia opened the door for City to overtake them at the top, something they will be eager to rectify as the unsparing festive fixture slog approaches. Its during December and January that United usually shift up a couple of gears and break away from the title chasing pack, but accomplishing that this year will be a true measure of Ferguson's powers.
