The former Arsenal midfielder had been linked with a summer switch to former rivals United, but is now on the verge of signing with Inter Milan for next season.
Song has been made available for purchase this summer, sticking a £12million price tag on his head for any team interested. And reports have emerged that Inter Milan want to take advantage of Song’s availability, and have offered the Catalan giants £10million.
Serie A rivals Napoli have also been linked with Song, but Inter are working hard on a 3-year-deal worth £80,000-a-week to secure Song’s signature this summer.
The move will come as a blow to David Moyes, who has been looking to bring in at least one new midfielder this summer, as he aims to stop United’s decline and rebuild them after a shaky first season. The Red Devils lost their 10th league game of the season at home to neighbours Manchester City on Wednesday night, as Manuel Pellegrini’s men came out comfortable 3-0 winners.
However, it appears Song won’t be coming to England to stop United’s decline, as Inter look set to beat Moyes to the Cameroon midfielder’s signature.
