will wait until the summer before bringing Borussia Dortmund and Polish forward Robert Lewandowski to the Premier League, The Telegraph reports.

After being denied a chance to pair the Polish international with former Dortmund teammate Shinji Kagawa last summer, the Red Devils are happy to play a waiting game until the summer of 2013.

The Bundesliga champions have valued the 24-year-old forward at £24.3million (€30million), while the player is believed to have informed his club that he does not intend to sign a new contract when his current deal ends in June 2014.

Although the valuation is a considerable sum, the player’s firm stance against a new deal at Signal Iduna Park holds Sir Alex Ferguson in good stead. United are prepared to wait out the current contract with a view to acquiring the player free in 2014, or at a considerably reduced fee in 2013.

Lewandowski has bagged eight goals in six games, with two goals apiece during a four-game stretch that included a crucial win in the Champions League against Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena.

Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp on the other hand is confident that the Pole will stay, noting, “I have no fears that we will lose him and I have a good feeling that he will continue with us.”

“Gone are the days when German clubs would sell immediately if they had offers from England,” Klopp continued.

Whether he continues at Dortmund after signaling his intention to see out his current deal remains to be seen.
