Mourinho, who travelled to Manchester to watch United’s victory over Everton, expressed to MUTV his excitement about the upcoming battle against Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad.
“People think we’re under pressure because one of the big teams will soon be out of the biggest competition. But Real Madrid and Manchester United staff, as well as the players, feel privileged. It’s the kind of match you want to play and we have to prepare as best we can”, Mourinho told the broadcaster.
The Portuguese coach is convinced that, despite last Saturday’s effort against Sevilla, every player will be recovered for the first leg of the Champions League heat round.
“It’s such a big match. Everybody wants to play. Nobody will be tired”, he argued, adding up his desire of meeting the world’s expectations of the game.
“They are not waiting for other matches in the Champions League. So I hope we can give the world of football what they’re waiting for”.
Sunday’s visit to Old Trafford was the third time Mourinho spy on United this season, after witnessing both victories over Manchester City and Liverpool.
