Angel di Maria has made it clear to Manchester United that he’s ready to join them from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Argentine attacker is set to return to the Bernabeu following his World Cup heroics, but his role in their first-team is far from clear.

Prior to the signings of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez, di Maria was already being linked with a move away from the Spanish capital, and it appears almost certain that he will leave now the headline-grabbing duo are officially Los Blancos stars.

United have been monitoring the situation for a while, however they were thought to have slipped behind Paris Saint-Germain in the running.

But now it’s understood that the player himself has sent word to Old Trafford that he wants to join the United revolution.

Louis van Gaal may look to step up his pursuit in the coming weeks, with Real likely to dip their £45m asking price in the knowledge that they must get funds in to cover the £80m+ spent on Kroos and Rodriguez.

PSG slow movement is thought to have left di Maria upset and unsure as to whether or not they value him highly enough.
