Lille defender Simon Kjaer has downplayed reports linking him with a move to Manchester United, according to the Express.
The Danish defender admits that he is flattered to be linked with a summer switch to Old Trafford, but insists he is entirely focused on helping the French club qualify for next seasons Champions League.
Kjaer has been mentioned as a possible replacement for the outgoing Nemanja Vidic, after an impressive season in Ligue 1.
He previously had an unsuccessful spell with Roma in Serie A, and the 25-year-old does not want speculation regarding his future to affect his performances on the pitch.
He told BT.dk: “It is of course always flattering to be linked with big clubs but I am not wasting my thoughts on rumours about other clubs.
“I am spending all my efforts and keep my focus entirely on reaching my goal that we will qualify for the Champions League next season.”
France football rankings show Kjaer to be in the top ten best players in Ligue 1 this season, form that sees him above the likes of PSG superstar Edinson Cavani.
However, the Danish international insists he is not getting carried away by the rankings.
“For me, it is a sign that I have produced a great season and particularly that I have been very stable,” Kjaer added.
“In case I had played a few poor matches, I would probably not have been high in the ranking.
“That kind of stuff is for entertainment and not important in our daily football life.”
