Burnley striker Charlie Austin has dismissed claims that he is set to move to a Premier League side in January according to Talksport.

It is reckoned that there has been keen interest from Newcastle, Aston Villa and Reading, with the Magpies believed to be heading the queue.

The Clarets hotshot insists that his future lies at Turf Moor and that he just wants to carry on in the same vein, as he has been in sizzling goal scoring form.

The former Swindon striker has netted 20 goals in 19 appearances so far this season and his form has alerted a number of clubs further up football's pyramid.

Burnley have recently appointed former Watford boss Sean Dyche and Austin firmly sees himself as part of the Englishman’s plans.

Austin appears to be relishing in his role as being the club’s main marksman and told Talksport how delighted he was to be playing for the Championship team.

“I’m here to play for Burnley football club,” Austin said.

“I’m enjoying my football at the moment and I long to stay here.”

While it is reckoned that Burnley could receive a sizeable fee for the player of at least £5million the star striker has urged his employers to resist the temptation to sell him to the highest bidder.

The Lancashire club are languishing in 13th place in the Championship but with the side only 4 points off the playoff positions, Austin is keen to lead a promotion charge.

They face Charlton at Turf moor in their next match and will be hopeful that they will be able to get their campaign back on track following a 2-1 defeat to Mick McCarthy’s rejuvenated Ipswich on the weekend.
