Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that he will keep hold of full back Mathieu Debuchy in the summer, as reported by the Evening Chronicle.

Debuchy reportedly told a French radio station that he may be open to a transfer in the summer but Pardew has spoken with the full back and he claims those reports are wrong.

Paris St Germain, Liverpool and Juventus are chasing the French international who cost Newcastle £5.5million back in January 2013.

Debuchy’s price will no doubt have gone up now and the 28 year old still have four years remaining on his current contract at St James’ Park.

Pardew may struggle to keep his squad together come the summer with Loic Remy returning to QPR and fellow Toon stars Fabricio Coloccini, Papiss Cisse and Hatem Ben Arfa having suitors around Europe.

The former West Ham and Southampton manager is adamant that Debuchy is happy at the club and will not be leaving though.

“I spoke to him, and he’s happy at this football club,” Pardew said.

“He’s signed for another four years, I think. He’s done very well for us.”
