The England international only move to Old Trafford from Crystal Palace over the summer, but has struggled to force his way into David Moyes’ first-team plans.
As a result, the 20-year-old has been linked with a January loan move to grant him regular playing time.
After being a part of the Eagles’ promotion-winning side, Zaha is far from short of admirers.
Palace, Stoke and Southampton are all keen, but Newcastle are believed to be leading the race according to unnamed source:
“The prospect of playing at Newcastle is the preferred one at present but it depends on United allowing a loan move to happen.”
Magpies chief Alan Pardew is desperate to add to his squad after seeing just one man – Loic Remy – arrive over the summer.
Moyes is believed to be ready to sanction a temporary move, with Zaha’s development a concern.
The youngster was the subject of a late loan offer from Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway, who is still thought to be keen.
Zaha recently made his England debut after selecting the Three Lions over his country of birth, the Ivory Coast.
Would a loan move to Newcastle suit all involved?
