The agent of Argentinian wonderkid German Pezzella, who is reportedly being targeted by Newcastle, has talked about how the talent is not yet ready to make a move from current club River Plate.

Newcastle had reportedly overtaken Serie A clubs Napoli and Roma in the competition for the signature of Pezzella, who is the captain of Argentina's under-20s.

However, Eduardo Palomar, who is Pezzella's agent, has indicated that his client's aim is to have a first team role regularly at River Plate before moving abroad.

"We are going to do all what is possible for letting German end his formation at River, and once he has an important part of his career done he will be transferred to a team from abroad," he said.

"There is a total agreement with the officials of River Plate for letting Pezzella play for River Plate for some time to give him a regular position in the first team. He is at the first step of a long ladder. He is happy at the moment and after all the patience he had for being able to play at River, he doesn't have (it) in mind to leave. River is his home."

Boss Alan Pardew revealed yesterday that him and Graham Carr have been looking at a player they believe could make an impact in the Premier League for Newcastle.

"We're looking at a player now and looking into his background and character, because we feel he really could be the one for us," Pardew told the Sun on Sunday.
